The first Limited Edition of the UK’s best-selling sports car is the MGF 75th Anniversary LE. The car makes its public debut at the Geneva motor show held from 11-17 March 1999. This edition is restricted to a production run of 2,000 cars.

Outside the UK available in two colours: Solid Black (Paint code PAK) and Platinum Silver (Paint code MNX), the MGF 75th Anniversary LE comes with a contrasting Grenadine Red hood colour. The car is specified with 16" 6-Spoke Abingdon style wheels and Goodyear Eagle F1 (215/40 R16) tyres. Mulberry Red (Paint code CDM) with Multispoke design 16" wheels was a third colour option only for the home market.

The interior is trimmed in Grenadine Red leather which is applied to the seats, door casings, handbrake and gear lever gaiter and steering wheel. A black leather handbrake grip is styled to match the wood/alloy gear knob. Wood applied to the centre console and air vent surrounds is complemented with a chrome ashtray. In-car entertainment is uprated by the addition of a single-disc CD player. The chrome theme is further applied on the exterior of the car to the door handles, grille and bodyside air intakes.

The 75th Anniversary LE has unique bodyside badging, and to authenticate the limited edition status, an individually numbered identification plate is mounted on the rear panel between the seats. A Certificate of Authenticity signed by MGF chief designer Gerry McGovern is also provided.
