The MGF Trophy 160 SE (spring 2001) came with an up-rated 160PS VVC engine, the first appearance of AP racing 'MG' branded red coloured 4 pot brake callipers acting on significantly larger front brake discs and up-rated suspension specification. Also standard a new aerodynamic package consisting of front splitter and rear deck spoiler.

Available colour options: Trophy Yellow (Paint code FAR), Trophy Blue (Paint code JFV), Solar Red (Paint code CMU) and Anthracite metallic (Paint code LQW). For the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxumbourg a chrome ashtray with special engraving (for example: Limited edition for the Netherlands xx/55), replaces the cheap looking black plastic one.

  Only 55 Trophy's available for the Dutch market
